Isis Reports

Isis uses an extendable reporting system to generate reports on the systems that it is monitoring. Reports are generated by clicking on the reports button on the Isis toolbar and the selecting the report and date range that you wish to generate the report for. Once the report has been generated, it is put in to a series of excel spreadsheets for easy manipulation.

For further information on generating Isis reports read the Using Isis section of help documents.

Note: The reports generated by Isis use Excel graphs extensively. Excel graphs cannot process more than 4000 rows of data at a time, hence reports that have more than 4000 rows of data will not graph the whole set of data, only the first 4000 elements.

In addition other reports have be set up to not process excessive amount of data if possible (this has been done for performance reasons). If for some reason the amount of data that you wish to log is unable to be handled by the Isis excel reports, please contact Integral and we will provide you with modified reports for your requirements.

To work around this problem, reduce the range of data than you are generating for your report by reducing the time between your report from and to dates.

The following reports are available in Isis version 1.1.

Tuxedo Reports

Tuxedo Health Check Report (1 Site)   The Tuxedo health check report provides a detailed analysis on the health of the Tuxedo system, looking for common problems or issues that exist in the Tuxedo environment.

When should I use this report? The Tuxedo health check report should be used regularly on production systems to help spot standard Tuxedo issues. It is a very simple to read report that uses coloured markers to indicate the severity of the problem.

Tuxedo Reports Server Performance Analysis (1 Site)   The Server Performance Analysis report provides a detailed analysis of the application's behavior over time, showing usage statistics for individual Tuxedo services, and also providing a picture of the health of individual Tuxedo servers based on service call statistics. The Server Performance Analysis report also shows server queue length statistics over time. The Server Performance Analysis report uses the information generated to provide a recommended server configuration, indicating any possible opportunity that may exist to streamline the number of server instances running in the Tuxedo application. Note that this version of the Server Performance Analysis report currently only supports one Tuxedo site.

When should I use this report? Use the Server Performance Analysis report to provide a view of the usage of individual services and servers in your application, and to investigate whether your Tuxedo application can be streamlined by reducing the number of server instances.

Queue Length Analysis   The Queue Length Analysis report details the lengths of individual Tuxedo server queues over time.

When should I use this report?
Use the Queue Length Analysis report to determine if and when messages are queuing for particular servers in your Tuxedo application.

Transaction Times Report   The Transaction Times report provides a detailed analysis of transaction times for individual services within a Tuxedo application. The Transaction Times report provides a picture of typical behavior for individual services and also reports extreme cases.

When should I use this report? Use the Transaction Times Report to investigate any exceptional cases in the performance of individual services which is not reflected in the average times produced by the Server Performance Analysis report.

Server Grouping Report   The server grouping report takes performance information from the Tuxedo system and provides a graph that can be used to help determine the ideal grouping of services in the Tuxedo system.

When should I use this report? The server grouping report is generally used late in the development cycle or in production to help determine if the Tuxedo services are grouped in a optimal fashion.
