Isis v2 features a completely new user interface which makes
Isis is much easier to use and more seamless than earlier
versions of the Isis tool. The new user interface uses a sliding
menu system, combined with a tabbed console window to provide
a much easier user interface than Isis version 1.0.
The new user interface is shown below;

Isis v2 provides support for the WebLogic 8.x product family
as well as the Tuxedo 8.x product family. Support is still
maintained for WebLogic 5.1, 6.1, 7.x and Tuxedo 6.5 and upwards.
HTML health check reports are designed to provide a instantly
accessible view of the health of a application which is being
monitored by Isis. The health check reports are typically
configured to generate automatically on a regular basis and
be placed in a central location where users can get access
to them directly.
Isis v2 contains a dynamic rules engine that allows an administrator
to configure any number of rules against a application that
is being monitored. For example a rule might be configured
that monitors a WebLogic server instance and reports when
the instance is unavailable.
Each time a rule is fired an action can also be set to execute.
Actions can be configured to do just about anything, including
send SNMP Traps, emails, delete files etc. In addition it
is possible to configure additional actions that can do whatever
you require.

Through its actions and rules engine, Isis now provides integration
with third party management consoles such as HP OpenView and
NetIQ. The integration allows events that have been detected
by Isis to be relayed up to a system wide management console
such as HP OpenView or NetIQ. In addition any management console
which supports SNMP Traps should be able to be integrated
with Isis. If your management console does not support SNMP,
then integration can be achieved via custom actions, which
you can develop.
Isis can now as a Windows Service, which enables 24x7 operation
and server restarts etc. For further information on running Isis as a Windows Service,

Integral now provides two new tools with Isis, called IsisImporter
and IsisReportGen, these two tools will import data into the
Isis repository and generate reports out side of the Isis
console tool respectively. The tools are useful for sites
which run Isis in a 24x7 configuration as they can be used
to import Tuxedo txrpt data and generate any of the Isis reports
automatically.
